What is a Christian Wedding?

In the Lutheran tradition, we understand a wedding as a joyful celebration and a time of worship. The day is about giving thanks to God for bringing the two of you together, publicly affirming your relationship, and blessing you in Jesus’ name as you enter the covenant of marriage!

How far in advance should we contact a church?

Check the building and Pastor’s availability 9 to 12 months in advance, and at a minimum 4 months. Make sure to confirm the date with us before making any public announcements with a date.

What facilities does CTK have to offer?

We offer accessible entrances and restrooms and ample parking. Our sanctuary can seat 110 people with heating and air conditioning. We offer dressing rooms, use of TV monitors in the sanctuary, and a space for your wedding rehearsal and/or wedding reception.

How do we pick hymns for the Wedding service?

Selecting music can be challenging. Elements of music should keep worship and gratitude to God as a central focus. We offer some suggestions in our Wedding Information Packet, which you can download with the link below.

Can we write our own Wedding vows?

There are many flavors of wedding vows, all with a common theme of faithfulness and fidelity for a lifetime. It is important that both partners make the same promises to each other. We have suggestions for wedding vows, or you can choose to write your own, but they do need to be discussed with our Pastor in advance.

Can we video record our service?

Absolutely! Video cameras may be placed discreetly to the side or rear of the sanctuary. If you would like to use our system for live streaming and recording the service, a Technology Assistant from CTK can be secured.
