Polka Service & German Supper
Did Martin Luther enjoy polka music? He probably would have if he lived a few centuries later! After all, Luther is known to have loved music, and some of his most well-known hymns are set to familiar tunes, the popular music of his day. And of course, Luther certainly enjoyed worship, even if the style was a little less traditional! Luther may or may not have enjoyed polka worship, but we hope you will!

Our October 4 Polka Service and German Supper was a blast! The traditional German supper featured brats, German potato salad, and kraut—and was delicious! This special event was open to everyone and was an afternoon of joy, community, and great food. There was a special collection to support the mission work of Lutheran World Relief and $280 was raised.
MUSIC WAS PROVIDED BY ATHIRST PRAISE BAND WITH GUEST PAULA JUEDES!
Our Athirst Praise Band is made up of talented members from our church community, along with a wonderful local musician, Paula Juedes, who joins us each year on keyboards to bring the polka spirit to life. We’re so grateful for the music they provide — the event wouldn’t be the same without them!
Shout-out to the Athirst Praise Band, made up of: Paul Hoffmann on banjo, Ron Voigt on bass guitar, Deb Bruns on ukulele, Mary Stevens on accordion, Becki Hill on vocals, and Ellen Smith on harmonica and rhythm.
